So Dozer is ranked as an Expert?? I know you are doing a local ranking, and it would make sense if it were not for the fact that you have Johny Valles, Gary Cooper, Eric Borkavec, Tim Hicks, Pat Hudson, TJ, Joe Stock, Cowbow, JB, yourself, etc as experts as well? All you should be local Pros. Dozer has been playing for about 3-4 years, and hasn't won anything other than a few Tucson local tourneys, of which we don't have anymore.

Hey Zeke - you may be right about Dozer; I don't know him too well and just took a guess actually for his ranking. He did place 2nd in the Big Sting in a field of 26 teams ( http://www.arizonafoosball.com/forums/jitbit/messages.aspx?TopicID=1169 ) - even ahead of the Zekinator!

By your logic, you won the event so you should be a pro. Dozer played with Gary, enough said. Also, not like anybody would actually put any stock to doing well in a specialty event like that one. Look at where Nick finished in that event, does that mean he should be an expert? Chambie won Expert doubles at AZ state, which is a solid event. TJ and Joe are typically one of the better BYP teams.

I think you guys either have an inferiority complex or it's a respect thing where the only "pro" players are Nick and Swan. If anything, make those guys Pro Masters and move up the experienced players to Pro. Unless maybe you give free entry fees to "pros" and you want to make it a very exclusive rank. Otherwise, not sure how you guys can honestly look at that list and think it's right. I think Ricky and Dozer are making great improvements in their game but they've been playing for a relatively short time compared to a bunch the other local "experts".

it turns out that Dozer does fit comfortably into the expert division

In a local setting perhaps this is true, but again not on the list that presented above. Dozer's offensive game would qualify for your expert division, but defensively he is not as good. To answer your question "Yes!!! The higher experts should be moved to pro"! I'm really curious as to why the points committee never felt this way. Anyway, I'll end this on a positive note saying that Dozer will kick your guy's asses smile Also you guys do a really good job with your foosball scene so regardless of how my posts may be read or interpreted just know that i'm giving you my opinion to help you improve. Keep up the good work.

any organized events for foosball in tucson?

Hi Rob,

Currently we don't have any organized foos here in Tucson. There are some places around town that have tables but not sure what shape they are in. We are looking to get things started up here in Tucson but that's a process still going on. Send me a message and let me know what part of town you are in. Sometimes we get together at people's houses and play.

I got a couple of T3000 coin up tables with light included. I'll give you a great price $900. Great condition and the light itself costs about $150 on its own. So it's a pretty good bargain.

Thanks,

These guys should be Pros

Flaherty, Brendan (Pro goalie)
Mariano, Art (Ranked Pro on tour)
Peros, Phil (Pro goalie)
Valles, Johnny (Been playing since the 70's cmon)

Now Bryan and TJ are correctly ranked as a local pros, but it still boggles my mind how all these 10-15+ yr veterans are still ranked "expert"

Borkovec, Eric
Chamberlain, Brad
Cooper, Gary
Sames, Mike
Scully, John
Waggoner, Mark

Also if you are going to have a local "Master" list, go ahead and put

Bacon, Tony
Bourdos, Nick
Cardenas, Ben
Cervantes, Zeke
Lantzy, Ross
Stachelek, Evan
Swan, Don

Really Zeke, your going to lump yourself, Ben and Ross into the same league as the others on your list?
Clearly you are joking or being sarcastic and if so I will laugh along with ya, but if your serious I call "BULLSHIT"

I assume this is Steve ... which i forgot to include in the "LOCAL MASTER" LIST as well based on experience and accomplishments on tour. The key word here being "LOCAL" for local points and ranks, I'm not saying I'm a master on tour or Ben or Ross. The real joke is that a guy like Dozer (Mike Mendoza), who is a rookie on tour, who has no local scene here in Tucson, and who only has been playing for about 4 years, quickly got put in the "expert" rank in the phoenix points list. In that same list you have all the regular phoenix players that have been player for 15+ years and have far more experience and play regularly. So when I see a list like this and it says "Master" but it does not include Nick, Tony Bacon, Don Swan, but TJ and Bryan Hendricks are in the Pro list (correctly by the way), then it's just a local ranking and not a real ranking.
