Begins January 25, 2019!

DESCRIPTION:

The Phoenix Tour is an ongoing promotion where players compete in tournaments all around the Phoenix area and are rated for overall performance during a three month stretch of events.  The winner of a given session will win a cash prize, have his/her name immortally embroidered on the official "Phoenix Tour Champion" jacket, and be given temporary ownership of the jacket until another player takes away his/her title.

It is a "points race" on steroids!

SCHEDULE:

Runs for 3 months at a stretch, with 3 months in between each "tour".  (2 tours per year.)

PRIZES:

There are two main prizes for each session - one for the overall champion,  and another for the highest placing rookie†.  Each earns the right to wear a championship jacket (pictured below). In addition, winners' pictures and other memorabilia will be displayed on the wall in the sponsor's locations.

  •   ROOKIE CHAMPION     The rookie champion will earn the right to wear the "Phoenix Foosball Tour Rookie Champion" jacket†† for highest placing rookie (< 1100 tournament points AND < 4.0 league rating).  Similar to Grand Champion jacket, with name embroidered, and NO CASH AWARD.  The title holder will also receive $2 off entry fees to any future Phoenix Tour event when he/she wears the promotional jacket to the event and at the time of paying registration.  He/she maintains the rights to the jacket until a new champion takes away the title.  The rookie champion will also receive a "Phoenix Tour Champion" hat featuring his/her name and date of title.

  • ■ Some tours may declare a maximum number of scored events which is less than the total number of hosted events. This may be desirable in longer point races as a measure of relief, allowing players to miss (or strategically pass on) one or more events without losing a lot of ground in the race.
  • ■ Players will be able to track their standings and statistics on the tour interface in the "Tournaments" section.
  • ■ Players who gain multiple entries to an official tour event due to early elimination (e.g., as "x-man") will only receive tour points for the initial entry.
  • ■ Scoring tie-breakers (when not otherwise specified per category):
    • 1. Higher player rank.
    • 2. Most number of 1st place finishes.
    • 3. Higher score in all non-handicapped events played.
    • 4. Higher average score in all events played.
