Holy mackerel are things getting crazy...

I have noticed that in Arizona there are a lot of people who don't have a plan of attack or a series for shooting or passing form the 2 bar. It seems that a lot of the up and comers get the ball in the back and they fire it the first chance they get, just trying to get passed the opponent's 3 bar. Others tic-tac the ball back and forth and eventually smack it open handed. While I know there is a certain level of control, this will always be less consistant and less effective in the long run. Developing a series for your goalie game can and will lead to you scoring more goals and winning more matches when you are playing goalie. First it is important to know the most common holes in the defense. Next it is important to start each shot in the same position, so that where you plan to shoot or pass, is not telegraphed to the defense.

Here is a diagram for a basic 2 bar shooting and passing series.

If you can get good at hitting each one of these options from a stop ball possition, you can start to terrorize your opponents and add more options to your series.

MASTER THE FUNDIMENTALS SO YOU CAN FORGET THEM. THEN YOU CAN FOCUS ON WHAT REALLY MATTERS, GETTING BUCKETS!

I hope this is helpful.

Happy Foosing!

Sherm AKA Dreamy Jim
edited by Sherm on 7/9/2014
edited by Sherm on 7/9/2014
